Door hardware

  1. For which type of door are the new handles required?
    1. Security hardware for entrance doors
In the case of security hardware for entrance doors, a knob is often fitted to the exterior side of the door, which prevents the opening of an unlocked door. On the interior side an appropriate half-set for interior doors can be fitted.

The matching entrance and corridor door sets as well as handle sets for interior doors are also available for nearly all of the design.

    2. Entrance and corridor door sets
In the case of entrance and corridor door sets a knob is often fitted to the exterior side of the door. This prevents normal opening of an unlocked door.

The matching security hardware and handle sets for interior doors are also available for nearly all of the design.

    3. Handle sets for interior doors

These types of keyholes are appropriate to all common interior door locks.

    4. WC handle sets
If you want to have a WC handle set fitted to your WC doors, you need to know that a WC lock is built in, or can be built in, on these doors.

  2. Do you have a “right-hand” or “left-hand” door (according to DIN, German Industrial Standard)?
    1. In cases of entrance doors to houses and flats, a knob is often fitted to the exterior side of the door. This prevents normal opening of the unlocked door. In the case of certain curved handle designs for the interior door side you need to ensure whether you need left-hand or right-hand specification.

Example of a handle design where you need to be sure whether you need a right-hand or left-hand specification.

UIn order to ascertain which one you want, stand in front of the interior side of your entrance door and check whether the hinges are to the left or the right on the door. In the case of a DIN left-hand door you need a handle pointing to the left and in the case of a DIN right-hand door, a handle pointing to the right.

  3. Which measurements are necessary when buying your Handle of excellence?
    1. 1) Spindle size:

      2) Distance between centre of lock follower and centre of keyhole:

      3) Door thickness:

In order to be able to choose the handles which are right for your doors, it's important to compare the information from the check-list with the details on the packaging.

Appropriate mounting items as well as detailed assembly instructions can be found with every HOPPE product.

Window handles

  1. Are you able to replace your window handles easily?
    1. It’s easy to replace your present window handles with new ones, for example lockable window handles like Secu100® + Secustik® or Secustik®.

Turn the old handle to the opening position (horizontal). Then lift the cover cap slightly and rotate it by 90°. Loosen the screw and remove the old handle. Now you can fit the new handle.
